Default HIDS 97+ Fogs (Latest and Greatest)

Okay guys, I've been going through the old threads but I figured I'd just start a new one. I want to convert my fogs to HID to match my headlights. What is the latest and greatest kit out there today. I'm assuming from my reading that I'd want a 35watt H3 kit with either 4300K to 5000K for a true white light. Let me know what you guys recommend.

4300-4500 if you're going with a 35w kit

Shane, I just did mine a few months ago. I used the 5K in the fogs with a H3 style bulb. I have a 92. The fitment maybe different for 95-96, and 97-2000. I used the 55 watt by Kensun off of Amazon. They offer a great warranty and I have had No issues so far. Some people choose to go with the 35 Watt, but they are not bright to me. I have 55 watt in all three of mine, low beam, high beam, and fogs. I also have had no people flash me or been pulled over, or no melting of any the backside of the housing. You know that HID's use less watts, with better output. The 55 watts ballasts are more expensive but the output is SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER.....

To say the least, you can try Ebay for cheaper brands. Most of them offer a great warranty, something like lifetime or 2-3 year, no questions asked warranty.

Good luck..

BTW, what do you have for low and highs currently???

I doesn't have to be that bright. I just want it to match better with my headlights than right now. I think I have PIA super whites in there now and it doesn't match well at all. It seems everything I've read that DMM is the brand of choice for a bunch of people. I don't mind paying more for a better brand if there's one available.

Mark,

Not sure what's in there now, SW had already installed them. Here's a pic of the controller mounted.

Xentec HID kits hands down. Never once out of 3 sets have I had an issue, and after 4+yrs with the ones on my SC's low beams, I will continue to use them.

I'm in the process of converting the 97-00 fogs to H1 HID Bi-Xenon Morimoto Matchbox projectors, with cleared lenses... Will see if it all fits really soon... ...and yeah, just slightly overkill I guess... (*Will have pics in the Build thread in about a week!)

...I think I'll check into this Xentec brand, still deciding on this as well for the Highs, lows, and the uh... Hi/Low fogs.. heh

I have those on my wife's car (2012 Camry). So far so good. Only been on there for about 6 months or so. I had them for the high beams as well. She hated them. She said they didn't light up like the OEM factory bulbs high beams. I told her its because they are only 35 watts, the factory ones were 65 watts. I still have to order hers and upgrade them to a 55 watt. So for now, she is rocking the 35 watt ones in the low beams only.

Here you go.. I hope this help out somewhat. All the lights were off in the garage except these... 6k in the low beam that are 55 watts. The bottom ones are 5K that are 55 watts. Its bright going down the road, I assure you.. LMK... Sorry about the bugs on the front bumper. I hate them.

If you notice, the bottom are more white than the top low beans. If not, look at the wall, you can see the difference.

Hey guys, If I were to get the DDM's, what all do I need??

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

I'm assuming the mounting brackets, HID harness. Do I need error eliminator and adapter cables??

These look pretty nice.

Thanks,

The ballasts look exactly like the ones I have the wife's car, but a different name, Xentec.

They look pretty good and the price is the same. I say go with 55 watt, that decision is yours.

Damn Mark ,

those fogs are bright. I think I'm going to have to go the 35 watt route.
