STOCK SC300/5 speed owners, what is your MPG???
Just kind of wondering, since mine kind of sucks.
Straight out on the highway, I drive with the cruise set on 80mph. Best I've done is like 21mpg, usually 20.5 or 20.6, since I round up lol.
I know this thing really needs a tall 6th gear like my old 98 Camaro Z28 with the LS1. That thing had a stupidly tall 6th gear, made about 125hp more than my lexus, had a very aerodyamic convertible top, yet mangaged to get 27.5 mpg with the cruise set at 80, driving all over the grades of PA, MD, WV, KY, and TN.
In my normal commute, which is about 8 miles interstate/2 miles stop/go traffic, it gets about 19 or 20mpg.
Honestly, for power and weight of this car, the miles per gallon suck IMO. This car is one of those great ones in that it has "JUST ENOUGH" power not to be slow, but not to be so fast that you hesitate putting your foot to the floor for fear of grossly violating the law. I do enjoy revving it up and slamming gears.
Still for a 3500lb car with 225hp, it guzzles the premium gas worse than my old 3500lb Z28 Camaro convertible with the 6 speed. That car would straight haul *** and burn the tires off if so prompted. Granted in town it did about 15mpg, but in the one "fuel economy" run I did around town it managed 20mpg.
So what are you getting in your STOCK SC300/5 speed car????

Mine isn't terrible, never calculated it though.
I try to keep my trunk empty of any junk to keep the mpg as high as possible.
Day to day driving in these NY streets, I like to keep it under 2000 rpm; If I get close to it I select the next gear.
But if I drive it like I stole it, then the mpg lessens.
I do believe this topic has been covered in other threads.

I'm probably getting 21 tops. She has a drinking problem. The only thing that makes my life better is when it breaks down every month and I have to borrow my fathers Ford Expedition which gets about 13mpg's. When I get back into my car after a week or so, it feels like I'm driving a Prius.
