before I tint.. some questions..
do you know if the tint guy remove the door panel on these cars to tint? I read everytime you take it off, they fit a bit looser, also a bit worried the crack in the door panel top bigger, or break a regulator or something.
I will express my concerns to the tint shop.. you know, everything just seem a bit fragile due to age.. but he does alot of classic cars too.. did your SC get tinted without complications afterwards?

I've never seen any professional shop or individual remove door panels to tint windows. The added time and cost of labor for that would make the majority of consumers turn around to find a cheaper shop.

It takes less then 5 minutes to reveal damaged/cracked panels that when removed may need repairs to be put back on correctly!
Not to mention that if not done perfectly the panels can make noise during driving, which is annoying as hell. Small squeaks and rubbing sounds....might need some dynamat.
The only concern with tint I think you should have would be making sure they do the tint in ONE PIECE! Ask them! Is the tint one full piece?

5 minutes a door, then reinstall. 2 or 4 doors the time will add up.
As the installer or company would you want to run the risk of potential cracks, scratches, damage, etc. from removing and reinstalling the door panels? If the installer is a professional they will pay close attention to detail when fitting the tint and wouldn't be able to do much if any better by removing the panels.
I strongly believe this is a case where you pay for what you get.

My buddy has a tint shop and did all my vehicles. He didn't have to remove it on all the cars except the recent SC I picked up. Only reason was the guard was so tight he couldn't get the tint under it. After pulling the panels out he discovered whoever pulled them out before, installed the driver side on the passenger side and vice versa. Windows on both sides rolls up and down just like they should

a real professional tinter can get it perfect on almost any car without removing the door panel. if your tinter says he needs to remove the door panel he lacks the confidence necessary to do a good job. speaking from experience as I've been around window tinting for over 15 years
