Default Key not turning ignition switch??

Alright,as the title says,my key won't turn my ignition switch. It'll slide in,but can't switch to the on position. Key works perfectly fine in my doors & trunk. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their SC if so,how do I go about fixing it?

Thats the only cause i know of, sometimes the wheel will click and lock and then to turn the key you kind of have to jiggle the wheel to get the key to turn otherwise it wont turn at all.

Try using the override on the shifter. Happened to me once, shifted it into D, then back, and then the key finally turned.

Occasionally, there may be a rather hard load left on the wheel after parking and the wheel is locked. In which case, it will take a heavy tug on the wheel to take the load off and allow the key to turn. When this first happened to me after I bought the can new in 1991, I thought I was in trouble and called the dealer for help. I was rather embarrassed to find I had to tug hard of the wheel. But the car was so slick that I didn't expect it to happen and nearly panicked.

are you using a factory key or a re-cut key. I had the same issue, recut key worked for a while but then didn't want to turn... your issue is not that the ignition is stuck and wont turn its that the key is not going in all the way... play around with, try and slide it in quickly, but don't try and force it (when you turn. when the key goes in partially your steering wheel will come down like its supposed to and you will hear the chiming but it wont turn. I gave in and just bought a Key cut to my VIN from the dealer only cost me about 88 bucks.

A small shot of silicon spray in the lock won't hurt, either..... (resolved my trunk lock issue...)
