Realistically speaking ruins the thread...sure people throwing out ferrari's are high, but to be real the only people who want these are enthusiasts, supra fans who thought the sc would be cheaper to make fast and people who want a nice daily for a good price.

Giving it more thought, and looking at the cars I listed there are compromises in the SC platform that make it easy to want a different driving experience. However, I bought an SC knowing it was a "compromise" car because of those said compromises.
After I dropped in the 2jzgte I thought for certain I was on the path to the car I wanted. While its nice to have the power, the car never has felt like a part of me. Not like the cars I mentioned anyhow.
But upon any analysis of a car I own I end up thinking about what I would trade it for. To wrap this up, what the SC continues to do for me is provide me with a good looking fairly comfortable car to have a little fun with. It also makes me want a dedicated track car and a luxo-barge.

These are awesome. I drove a stock '87 once at a used lot and it was like a ballistic refrigerator. I loved it. I almost bought another one a year later. I may still. 86-87 (and 85's with an intercooler added) Regal T-Types and GN's are one of the last great classic Detroit muscle cars. I'd be VERY tempted to trade one for my SC but the G-Body is flexy and doesn't handle well, unlike the SC. Still... it's part of what makes it so special.

The easiest thing is to look for a 1986 or, certainly, 1987 GN/T-Type since '87 had the best engine tuning from the factory.
Grand Nationals weren't standard turbocharged at all until 1985. Before that the same (non-intercooled and even lower rated) engine was an option.
The carbureted 3.8L turbo versions (again, same basic 3.8L engine block design) dated from 1978-1981 as an optional engine in the Regal series.
