Default Sun Roof Issue

So when I bought my car beguining of last month, the sunroof worked flawlessly, then a couple of weeks ago I went to close it, and it wouldn't budge. I had to remove the dome light and manually close it.l the sunroof. Now if I try to open, it will slide back a couple of inches then stops and this loud grinding sound starts up. What I've been doing is using a flat head screw driver to help the motor thrn the screw. What should I do to fix this?

I'm not sure how the sunroof works in this car, but it sounds like the chain is off track..... Probably not an easy fix, I'd say open it all the way and if possible(I have no idea) try to connect the chain to a few teeth, then have another person try electronically closing it....
