so looking to buy another sc possibly and living on maui my choices are limited, but did come across this.

92 sc400 3000 OBO
130000 on body
86000 on mk4 n/a supra swap manual
upgrades:
injen intake
headers
exhaust
apexi safc2
exterior, interior 9/10

also stated that it has a tunning issue but had to sell beccause he moved off island and didnt have time to finish project. so his dad is selling for him.

what should i offer and what should i look for. would taking out the safc2 fix the tunning issue?

thats what i was thinking. my only concern is the "tunning" issue. I dont know much about the safc 2 and was wondering if that could be the culprit and if just taking it out would fix it. Then i would have one for sale lol

The safc is a simple device. Remove the 12v power to it and reset the ECU (disconnect battery). The owner probably tried to lean the car out a little for more power and now it runs like crap. Just better make sure he hasn't had it running too lean or bye bye motor...

That seems pretty lowball for headers and manual swap on an SC400. IMO

Edit: Realized it's N/A 2j... a sketchy swap too. After reading this thread I would not do it lol.

The SAFC is a piggyback. It "fools" the ecu into thinking you have more or less air at the MAF and adds/takes away fuel accordingly. If there are no real engine mods on the car I wouldn't see the harm in taking it out. Just be sure to reconnect the MAF wire at the ecu correctly if the previous owner cut it.

Thanks guys. If it has been running to lean, how long is to long? And is there a way to tell if it has been to long? I'm probably gonna go physically see it and drive it on Saturday.

seems like a good buy. Just take out the SAFC there's really no need for it given the mods you listed already on the car.
