Could one say 1500$ will get you out of almost any repair jam on an Sc?

It could be SO MUCH WORSE!
It is a very comforting though man , most parts are easy to find and VERY cheap, it is another reason why I love the Sc platform.

I used to love the s500 benzes and i was saving up for one, then u do your research and find out tranny replacement is $7000 and the suspension is in the thousands as well, its enough to scare you off completely, most other "nice" cars are the same, jaguar, bmw, audi, we are actually very lucky I think in that respect.

Sorry should've clarified, I was talking about mostly doing things like pulling dents from non removable on the vehicle and then having it repainted if the paint cracks or is really wavy.

For example soccer ***** hitting the roof and putting dents in it or careless people at the mall that fling their doors open

Yes, I could see some of that eating up your 1500$ quickly!

This...when things start failing in succession the sc turns into an account leech

I can attest to this. Recently had someone back into the front of my car in the parking lot at my apartment complex. $1550 is what her insurance gave me for a new front bumper, fender, headlight and paint.

$1500 dollars seems like a safe number. However, if your car is a money pit and has a bunch of un-forseen issues, that 1500 could get eaten up fairly quick.

Isn't a new headlight nearly a grand alone OEM?
Is that how some handle claims these days? Don't you have a say? (I haven't filed a claim in 20 years, I have no idea).

The platform is not perfect but reading about a guy replacing the front end on an audi recently inspired this thread. It looked like a nightmare.

Sounds like an appropriate number to keep available for unexpected repairs. Now mods on the other hand... $1,500 is just the tip of the iceberg.
