All the tools I carry with me. 3/8 ratchet, complete wreches up to 18mm, sockets from 8mm to 20mm, extensions, size adapters, still have my large sockets that can fit the axles, 3ft breaker bar, combination screw driver with torx bits too, pliers, channel locks and some more that is thrown in the bag. And I still carry my oil filter wrench and stuff.

I go to junkyards often. Plus I'm always doing little things to my cars. And I'm quite worried everytime I drive if I breakdown somewhere for something stupid.

I guess I carry more than just "basic" tools... But altogether, it's in a toolbag. But even the basic tools can cover most maintenance works. I use tools beyond what they're intended for if I can if I don't have proper tools. If it works, it works.

I've never had to work on my car on the side of the road before either, but you never know whats going to happen when you're out with friends. Most of the times I've used my tools to work on someone else's car. I used to keep a spare UAS airbag in my car because I've had to swap air bags out on the side of the street multiple times on an IS250.

Disposable gloves are also really important to keep in the car. Last thing I would want is for my tan interior to get messed up.

I usually keep a hydraulic jack, breaker bar, and a small socket set handy. I also have a handful of oem lug nuts stashed away in the event of a flat, I'm always a little iffy about limping away from a flat with "tuner" lugs on my spare.

At the very least you'll want a 10 and 12 mm socket and a phillips and flat head screwdriver.

I had to pull my engine thermostat out on the side of the highway once. Thank god Lexus had a courtesty kit with a 10 mm wrench in it. Also thank god I had my jack, jack stands, and some 2x4's in my trunk otherwise I would've been stranded in Merkel TX. Never attempt to make a big drive if you know something is going out in your car.

Toyotas only uses these sizes, if you carry 13/15 mm you're might as well throw those away you'll never use them. 8,10,12,14,17,19,21,22 should be all you need on a Toyota product unless you feel like taking off axles Allen 10mm and 34mm socket

Unless you want to buy Snap on tools, then I would start with only the sizes you need since 1 snap on socket cost as much as a craftsman set.

You'll also need a ratchet with extensions, a set of wrenches, #2 phillips screw driver, a flathead screw driver, a set of metric allen keys, some pliers, a cutting tool, electrical tape, and zipties are always nice to have. Don't forget to keep a flashlight in the car.

I also have a breaker bar and 21mm socket to remove the lug nuts since I don't have the stock lug nut wrench.
This is a good start

A heavy duty jack and jack stand. The factory scissors jack only supports 1,500 lbs. Mine acutally got crushed by my SC while my friend was working on it once.

A flashlight, batteries, and an extra pair of clothes helps.

How about some of those road reflectors to caution people that you are there if this incident occurs at night. Safety is a good thing too.
