Default Should I get this steering wheel?

Hey CL! Their is a wood grain steering wheel for sale on ebay for $150.
Is it worth it?
Would I be able to somehow relocate my cruise control?
What are the downsides to replacing the factory steering wheel?

Here is the wheel

You need to get a hub to attach the wheel, the stock one doesn't work.
You lose the air bag

Always though about getting a woodgrain myself, but think it would just throw off my whole interior. Want to get a RX woodgrain instead haha.
As stated downsides would be losing airbags and for cruise-control you'll most likely lose it unless you somehow relocate it

i like that wheel and $150 is reasonable , but you wont have an air bag as said above ,,,,and i couldnt live with my air bag light being on all the time.

Id say find a newr model lexus wheel to swap in properly.

^^^^i got the rx woodgrain wheel and its the best choice for our cars i think , although they can be hard to find and a bit pricey at times.

It won't look so pretty as he inserts his chest into it.

If it were me, I would wait and fit a Lexus wheel with air bag on your car.

Safe vs dead?

I put a energy hub and wheel in my car a few months ago. I lost my cruise control when I did my GTE swap so I was not too worried about that. I had to buy there quick release hub to be used as a spacer so my horn button would clear the nut that holds the hub to the column. They offer two size quick release adapters and I went with the larger one just to be sure. It took some getting used to because the turn signal stalk got spaced pretty far back from the wheel. Maybe this would be better if I had used the smaller quick release. I also could not get the horn to work because of the clock spring. The connector on it is pretty large since it has the wires for the cruise control. With some other cars in the past I have just drilled a hole in the base of the hub to allow the connector on the clockspring to still be used. They give you some universal adapters but I couldn't figure it out. I am very happy with the steering wheel, its seems to be made of better quality materials. Its not flimsy like some of the cheaper wheels I have seen. I have the leather one.

Personally, I love the stock look. So the wood grain isn't me, but it is to your preference. With that kind of money you can get a 3 spoke GS, ES, Celica, Corolla, Matrix, 97+ SC steering wheels. I think the GS ones are wood grain.

thats what seat belts are for, buddy!
altough i'd much rather retain air bag capabilities on a car that came with them, as well.

If your current steering wheel is messed up just get it re-wrapped. That's what I did and it looks perfect without making my car into a rice rocket.

I agree with Chris. I prefer the Oem option also when it comes to steering wheel. That all wood wheel would stick out like a sore thumb.

Agree with these guys. I suppose that if you had a lot of wood trim it may be alright, but in general it looks tacky IMO. But in the end, if you think it'll look good then do it and post pics !
