Default should i buy this 95 sc300 2jzge boosted?

Hey guys. Im kinda looking at this clean sc300. Its black leather/5speed factory. BUT its 2jzge non vvti boosted to 10psi on dead stock internals???
Mods...
Act 6 puck
Recaros
Turbonetics t4 single turbo
Buddy club coils
"Supra fuel pump wiring mod"
Not sure on tune yet

He wants to trade me my CLEAN is300 with 160,000mi "check posts"

Are they tough enough to handle boost stock??
Thanks!

Yes, the 2jz can easily hold that much boost. There have been people who have gotten 800+ hp on stock internals.

The 2jz is a really well built engine from the factory and you shouldn't have a problem with that much boost.

In the end, if you really want to trade your IS for the SC, I would say go for it, you can never go wrong with an SC

Just check that idles good, no smoke, is tune, do compression test, is everything ok, just do it.
Stock motors can handle easy 400 whp, if you want to be on the safe side you do tt head gasket with ARP bolts, there is tone of info here on CL or you can go to http://www.clubna-t.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10 read it so you can have idea.

be careful sir .. a unopened improperly tuned ge na-t setup at 10psi could have been detonating itself to a slow death .. if they were not using a good tuneable ecu , do a full compression test , leakdown test and invest in a remote mini camera that you can stick down the sparkplug holes and look at the tops of the piston .. oem 15+ hg being on boost does not ususally hold up for long .. as a fellow nat'er who builds these , again be careful for it can turn into a money pit real fast

yeah they are usually fine with that level of boost if taken care of, but as lexforlife said you never know what was done, but what you can do is go check it out, see what they are running, drive it and see how it drives.
If it runs inconsistent or badly you will know thats something you will have to deal with, if it runs good and boosts good with a tune then 10 psi should have been just fine, and you can always upgrade the ecu down the road or do the tt ecu mod if it doesnt have something on it already.

other option is to just turbo your is300, that could be fun as well and should take 10 psi all day as well.

ever driven a SC after your IS300? Its going to feel like a boat. And trading for a turbo car is sketchy there's really no in between good or bad. Its either done right and is running right or its showing signs and thats why most people get rid of them. Compression test IMO is a must when buying a turbo car.

I personally would keep the IS, SC's look good and the interior is more classy but compared to an IS sports wise it can't compare even if the IS is slower. You'll see what I mean when you drive the SC.

Walk away.. Wait for something else to come by or just start stacking parts for your IS then when you have everything, boost the IS. Lol

Whats ur goal with the IS as far as hp? If you dont plan on going over 500hp i dont see a whole lot of benefits going gte.
