Question How "hot" do the heated seats get? Can't tell if they work.

Are the heated seats pretty obvious when working or are they "mild"?
I occasionally try my heated seat function (the lights come on) but i cant tell if the leather is just warming up from the ambient temperature rising in the car or the heaters. Seems mildly less cold then back seats in the first few minutes. Does that sound right or are mine broken?

They definitely take a bit to warm up...but they do keep you quite cozy and warm in the toosh area. They are not like Land Rovers which give 3rd degree burns...

Aw man, I used a Land Rover for a while and loved the heated seats.

I don't think mines work at all. I'll cut them on, drive home which is 30 min, they're only as warm as whatever temp I have on the climate control.

Like I told a few others, some heated seats do not get heated but so much. Your own body heat could be warming the seat more than the heating elements itself. So you wouldn't feel much difference.

Perhaps I am giving up too soon. I cut them off after the cabin warms up. That is less then 5 min in NYC.

They're terrible. My 350Z has pretty crappy heaters but those put these to shame. Land Rovers are HOT but I think GM's Trailblazers are even hotter. Good old 'merican engineering. Waiting for someone to sue a manufacturer for 'harm' caused by heated seats and the subsequent permanent warning sticker on all new cars

Mine take a bit to get warm. I would say like 5 mins to get warm, 10 to get hot and nice. After about 15mins I usually turn them off because it gets too hot for comfort. Unless im taking an hour long trip, then I leave it on and put the heater on low.
My gfs 2010 ford focus seats gets really hot in about a minute or so though.

OK.....
I was being too hasty. I left them on beyond the first few minutes today and they got noticeably warm. They DO WORK!, Nice!

The leather was so old on my old seats I couldn't feel the heat at all. After putting new covers on I have to turn them off usually before I get where i'm going. I had mine on with the windows down when it was about 40 degrees outside the other day and it was perfect

MIne takes a few minutes to warm up also. My old 3 series BMW had the best heated seats. They would melt your pants to the seat if left on high for longer than 7 minutes.

Mine get decently warm, I can notice them for sure, especially when it's 15 degrees out like today!
