Now, with your car being turbo..do you have a turbo timer installed? If so, do you have the same problem as one of our club member's alarm unlocking the doors when the turbo timer shuts off? I like to know if you don't mind or any input would be great since I might do this as well. Thanks in advance!!

I do have a turbo timer, I recently disconnected it to work on some interior parts. I'll reinstall it in a week or two and I'll get back on it. From what I suspect, it should be able to keep the doors locked once it shuts off

It is a very nice feature to add on to our cars. Gives it a much more luxurious feel. You could wire it up to the clutch switch and just have the clutch depressed to start. I think its best to do it on the brake depressed, that way you could have an extra safety feature on manual cars haha.

I think you'd need to break a key inside the ignition. But i could be wrong.
I read on the BMW forums some guy installed it on his 5 series, he used a screw to keep his steering-wheel lock open.

That works too. I removed my whole ignition. No longer have a steering lock.

thm8d you removed the ignition cylinder completely? So it is just left with a few wires around the ignition switch?

Do you have more details to bypass the steering lock or how it's related to the ignition switch?

If you press the switch while the vehicle is running does it turn the car off? (not desirable)
Does it beep if engine is running and you leave the car with your key (like most factory system does)?

I am not sure why remote starting is being brought up, this isn't a remote start system

Installation was about 15 hours. You can use any 12V signal haha. You can even wire it up to the clutch safety switch. It's just better to use the brakes because you need to step on the switch to shut off the car.

Thats correct, The ignition cylinder is connected through a harness and 2 rivets. I drilled out the rivets and removed it. Ran some butt connectors into the stock harness just in case if I ever go back to stock.

To shut off the car, you need to step on the brake and then hold the botton for 3 seconds.

This is a remote start system, The range is about 200-300 feet distance. I start up and warm up my car from anywhere inside my house

Is there a way to not install the remote start functionality? I understand the brain and push button already has the ability to start the car the way it is wired
but I didn't want this because I have a manual trans.

Yes, you can disable it through the brain. They have steps to disable it.

Do you remember where you tapped into most of the required wires from? I am wondering if the wires need to be extended to all over the car.
