You are right about the rest of the interior looking shabby with the new seat coverings looking so good. But we did shampoo and scrub the carpet well as we could while the seats were removed....thats the best we could come up with.

It does look very nice indeed. Only $1600? C'mon! That SC is definitely worth that! I put $3500 into my SC and it's not even done yet...loving the seats, they are tons better than the old ones...parking brake boot cover might need a little tidying up though. I can't talk though, mine is awful lol.

awesome deal! gratz and good luck on the father son project i bet your son is ecstatic! i would also suggest a resonator delete. gives the engine a really aggressive growl

Update on our $300 dollar SC 400. Runs and looks great! Had an annoying issue with the Power steering. Replaced pump and belt but would growl when placed under a load. Fluid level checked with engine off, system bled, screen in resevoir cleaned...stumped. Then I thought about adding fluid while it was running since I had nothing to lose. As soon as I poured fluid in the noise stopped. Maybe I missed something but I always thought you check PS fluid with the engine off. Guess I was wrong.

Was that just the front or front and rear and do you remember what you typed in the the search box on ebay? I'm going to be redoing the seats as well. That sounds like a very good price if the material really does feel like real leather and is durable.

Update on our car project...car runs great and son is doing well learning to drive. Two issues elude us....Radio is inop (will not power up, fuses all check good) Second issue replaced serpentine belt and now have a belt squeal. Once the car warms up the squeal goes almost away OR the instant i squirt belt conditioner on the noise stops....Any ideas??

The radio is possibly shot. Do you have access to get another used one to try out? If not, you might as well replace it with a newer unit. You can probably find good deals on craigslist or bargain deals online.

Serpentine belt issue....I chased this issue for the longest time on one of my SC300's some years ago. The culprit turned out to be the BELT TENSIONER, I suggest that this is the likely cause on your SC. When changing out the tensioner I made sure I had a new pulley/bearing with it as well. If it were me, I would not continue to use of that "belt conditioner", those are crap products in my opinion and have no business being appllied to engine belts, especially new ones! They are only a bandaid at best, and only mask other problems. Your tensioner(s) apply the correct amount of tension on your belts in modern cars (to keep them from squealing)and dimes to donuts this is your problem. The stock SC radio is a fairly well made unit and usually is very reliable. Check ALL your connections to confirm you have power at all connections, starting at power connections to the unit then to speakers. If you find you need a oem replacement good used ones on the forums/ebay can be had all the time for well under $100. Plently of DIY's on how to remove the stock radio.
