Thanks for all the kind words....We used enamel that is designed for plastic. Of course cleaned everything really well prior. What a pain working thru the window switch issues. Long story short replaced the master window switch and passenger switch to get everything to work. Now all we really need to do is recover the front seats and replace the wheels and tires.

Our $300 project as expected is costing much more but still way under what most first cars cost.
Here is the list: $300 car, $178 for tax and title, $75 new fuel pump, $125 used sending unit VSV for evap and pass window switch, $55 Gravity tranny flush with filter and Type T fluid, $45 for another Ignition Key, $50 for master window switch, $50 Miscl hoses clamps and fluids....grand total around $900...all we have left is the power steering pump, wheels/tires and seat covers. Could not be happier with this father son project

Just outta curiosity, what did you repaint the tan interior pieces with and what did it cost?

Great find and a great buy! Of course SC's are fabulous coupes. Don't know what part of TX you are but down here in Houston you can find a fair share of SC's and Lexus V8's most always in the tons of salvage yards down here. Great way of shopping for used parts to keep your rebuild costs low. As the saying goes "Seek and ye shall find"......looks like you have found a piece of automotive heaven on the cheap. Keep us posted on your progress and everything you need to know about your SC is right here on this forum. Good luck!

And it matched the tan perfectly? Or did you paint the interior another color?

Thanks again everyone, No the paint did not match perfectly but was close enough for what we are trying to accomplish. Please remember this is my youngest sons first car so all does not have be showroom quality. I am trying to teach him several kinds of lessons. One of which is that cars are expensive, so he is paying for half of everything we put into it. That way he learns and he has "skin" in the game.

A heart felt much RESPECT! I agree with what you're teaching your son, he'll learn a lot and value the humble beginnings, as well as the hard work, and dedication.
