Got my LED DRL working without Relay without Resistors NADA
So i spent about 2 hrs today trying to figure out how i was going to get my ugly 9005 replaced with my nice LED version of them. I put them in two weeks ago and sure enough the work fine as high beams but would not work as DRL. Someone said buy resistors but i didn't like thinking of adding that much heat. Then someone said use a relay. I went out and get a 4 pin relay and wired everything up and nothing came on at all. I was like WTF!!! Checked and triple check. I decided to hook each light up to their own ground instead of sharing it with the relay. Still no dice but i did noticed something weird... If you use a chassis ground and leave the power wire alone on each light, the light works fine as DRL and high beams. so instead of using resistors or relay just cut the ground wire on each high beam and use a chassis ground source and then the light works like a champ.
thanks,
sid

The high beams still work like normal but now i can put HID's in there or LED. just a simple work around without having to get all the other stuff and risk heat from resistors.

No need on gx. Drl are not the high beams. I bet this would work on h4 bulbs on any Toyota.
IMHO this is awesome. No stupid resistors that can melt stuff. No relays. Just cut two wires and ground them.

I can't believe no one ever had this documented and would have spent money buying resistors.
