Here's an update. I installed the Sucker Punch short throw shifter last weekend. This thing is awesome!

I was one of the first to order this shifter as soon as it became available on the Sound Performance website.

We finally had the chance to install the shifter this past weekend on my 97 SC300.

I will go ahead and vouch for how nice this thing is. As soon as you see it in person, you know you are dealing with a very high quality part. The craftsmanship on it is absolutely amazing and it feels extremely solid and well built.

Installation was a breeze. I had a "short" style OEM shifter before that came on the early models, I believe 93-96 and I can tell you the throws on the Sucker Punch shifter are crazy short. It feels much more precise and solid than the OEM counterpart.

Here are some pictures of it installed in my car:

Here is the shifter in first gear, look how short the throw is:

Nice man. I am looking at grabbing that at some stage! Do they come with a painted/black reverse lock out thing?

Not sure. It's removable so you can paint it whatever color you want.

Glad to hear that man.

I read a few posts back from Reid at Sound Performance and he said if there was interest in getting the reverse color in black, they could make a batch of black ones. I'd shoot him an email and ask if that's still a possibility. I prefer the silver look, I even removed my old oem black collar for a polished one lol.

I don't typically post much on Club Lexus. But you sir are a master of your craft, Way to raise the bar with building this car, everything has been top notch. Curious, and slightly off topic, Didn't you live in Wisconsin at some point? When did you move to OH? I would have loved to have seen this car in person.

[QUOTE=97-SC300;7548241]Quick update from this evening...

I've wanted one of these for a while...

It's a billet aluminum reverse collar that's an exact replica of the plastic oem piece. This is made to fit over the oem shifter. There was a batch of these made for a SF member in Norcal and they all sold out pretty quick. I kept nagging and nagging him and was lucky enough for him to find an extra one in storage. You need to use a punch tool to remove the pin that holds the collar in place, but other than that it's a straight forward ordeal.

It looks really cool in person and feels great.[/QUOTE

Will that collar or the oem fit a suprasport v3 short shifter for the r154?

Why (and how) would you want to install a reverse collar for a transmission shifter that is not designed to have one? It's like a regular gear on a R154, there is no collar involved.

Yeah i know it wont "function" because its made for the 6 speed and not the 5 speed. I was talking in terms of aesthetics (looks ) not functionality. Forgive me if it was a stupid question but im still collecting parts for my swap and im not sure how the v3 suprasport shifter will look. The other pics ive seen didnt have my shifter on them. They were all much bigger. Plus i kinda like that look. Nice f×*king build by the way

Question Well done

Can you tell me about how much you spent on parts in total? it looks to me, that you did all the labor yourself, if not, could you include labor prices as well? This is a beautiful swap, it looks as if everything is brand new and no junk yard ****. Were did you get all your parts?
