Greetings, 1JZ swap beginning
Howdy CL,
Oh man! where do I begin. About two months ago when I was searching for a way to turbo my TSX, I managed to discover CL. I read about the 1JZ/2JZ swap and I was hooked. I bought a 94 sc300 mt and the rest was pretty much history. Given the facts that I have almost no automotive experience, I explored purchasing a swapped SC. However, I decided that it would be more rewarding to perform the swap myself. Plus it doesnt help reading OneJay's post, while he made it look so easy. =) But I knew it would be a hard process.
Just want to use this thread to introduce myself and shout out to those CL members that helped me along the way.
Fast forward to today, I just received a 1JZ rear sump from jdmenginedepot, however they did not ship the ECU and the Ignitor, which I specifically asked for to include over the phone(they did provided an uncut harness). Guess I will have to call them tomorrow. Heres a couple pics.
Getting read to pull 2jzge
Looks intact, however no ecu or ignitor

I just finished my swap last week and was surprised at how easy it really is. Best of luck!
You are also missing the plug cover as well as the front timing cover from what I can tell. It does look to be a soarer motor though considering it has a fan clutch.

Received the driftmotion care packages last week. Changed Water Pump, front main seal, new timing belt.
New CALI problem registering the car, the Federal Safefy sticker and the Emission Sticker are missing for some reason. My car could not be registered in CALI until I replace those from the dealership. Turned out Emission Sticker is only 9 bucks, however, the Federal Safety sticker (w/ VIN) is a PITA to get. The lexus dealership i went to said only four (4) people had to replace the sticker in the last 10 years.
Regarding smog, I found two place to 'SMOG' it, big thanks to lexuswtf.
Will post more pictures after I receive the harness from phoniextuning!
