Sc400
OK,ok....now that I've got your attention, let me start from the start. Last summer I had a good friend who had purchased another new car. Her old 2002 Nissan Maxima w/188k miles had been parked for over a year in the garage. The dealer had offered her crap, and being a single woman, she didn't want to deal with strangers coming to her house. She set the price, and I paid $2k for it. I put another $1k into it with new tires, tint, rebuilt caliper, and 2 straight days of detailing. I drove the car for a few months, then sold it on eB*y to a student in Florida for $5k. With free $$ in my pocket I started looking for an SC. I really wanted an SC400!
What I found was a 220k mile '95' SC300 with a blown engine located a 700 miles away. Purchased it off eB*y and loaded the Tacoma for a roadtrip. I towed the dark blue with tan interior hulk back home. It had terriable paint and a huge dent, ripped interior, bald tires, etc. Price tag $900, not including my time and gas to pick it up. Few more teaser photos?
I purchased a used SC300 2JZGE online for $700, installed myself, and with a few spare parts from the Pick-n-Pull, I had a crap looking SC300 for less than my profit from the Nissan. (Sorry, no photos of this car). The day I finished the car and got it running, I traded a member here on CL that wanted a SC300, for a black/ grey interior, 98k mile '93' SC400... because he wanted to go turbo? More photos?
I already have an '84' Supra with a '91' 7MGTE turbo engine, so I was all for the trade. The teaser photos are what I recieved!
Now....I have done quite a bit of work to get it to what you see here. The following has been done: New professional paint job w minor rust repair, refurbed the wheels, new tires, tint, complete tune-up, 4 new struts, brakes on all corners, LCA bushings, etc.
Interior....? The rare two-tone Grey!
Inside I have dyed a different year Lexus wheel, rebuilt and dyed the door panels, wrapped all wood trim with a nice CF wrap, installed a new Alpine head unit, blue LED dash lights, etc.
I still have some mx to do this winter (timing belt / water pump, re-seal the headlight), and still need to finish the interior (repair driver seat, dye the remaining 2-one interior panels, and carpet).
All in all I am very pleased with the car, still in my mind as I am sure yours...a fantastic design. It is a daily driver for the warmer months while the Tacoma sits till winter. I average 22MPG, and the old R-12 is ice cold! Current mileage is 106k.

I like it.
I recently purchased a 95 sc400 blb/blk and was going to do the same cf wrap over the wood and the center console plastic. Which wrap did you go with? I was looking at the "3m di-noc" cf in matte. How difficult was it to install?
Any concerns about it pealing in the heat?
Keep up the good work.

Thanks. I also thought about doing the center console area, but decided not to....too much would have looked overloaded. I may still do the area under the cluster, but that would be it. I purchased from Amazon, SimCarbon I believe. Good strong material, easy to work with with. The car has withstood +100 degree days for the past 2 weeks (+120 degrees inside), so I'm sure the heat will not affect.
Just noticed the title of the thread is wrong....should be "Free SC400".

Every SC I've found in the yards have all had the two-tone tan interior. Out of a dozen or so, not a black or grey interior to be found. Inquired several times for parts and when I tell them I have the grey interior, I've been told they don't have any grey interior pieces, "rare and hard to find that". Almost think there are more black interiors out there than grey?
I ended up using SEM to dye a few pieces to get the color I want. I will be much happier once the lower dash / center cousel and carpet are finished too.
