I had a MKIII when I was 22. That was sometime ago. I enjoyed the short time I had it, and it was very comfortable to drive. I also got into a SC400 for a good price and after extensive research and effort, I swapped a 1JZ in it.. My goal was to have a sleeper and mission was accomplished. In the end, if you have the time and money buy the MKIII, they are getting harder to find with a complete interior. You can have the best of both worlds in my book if you do.

I appreciate all of your advice...I'm actually planning on building a MK4 in the next 2-3 years. I was thinking about putting a 2J in my SC4 then later on buy a MK4 shell to swap it out, but then I said hey if I do that I can throw a 1J in my SC4 and daily drive the SC. I'm going to be checking with this guy in a few & if it's a turbo MK3 shell I'll be jumping on it right away.

Well I spoke with the guy and come to find out it is a non-turbo hardtop MK3 shell with badly faded burgundy cloth interior. He also said it was missing the outside trim & needed minor body work along with paint. That right there was my que to say forget it. By the time I put the money into just getting the shell right I could've bought a MK4 shell. I'm just going to wait until a good deal on a MK4 shell pops up. Thanks guys I truly appreciate your help & opinions.

That's the route I'm going lol I just get tired of gas prices driving a V8 as a daily. My platform is already good and my SC4 only has 85k miles on it. Might just sell the 1UZ out of it & park it, then get a nice 98-01 Integra or EG/EK hatch for a gas friendly daily.

the 7m's in the mk3 supras are notorious for blown head gaskets. if your going to get an mk3 you should just go jz rather than 7m. 7m can build a ton of power just like the jzs but they arent as reliable. trust me when i tell you, i have a ton of friends who have 7m supras and supra mk3s

Yeh I thought it over and I'm just going to do a swap in my SC & get a nice little gas saver daily. More than likely it'll be a Honda Civic or Integra unless I can find a GS300 for a good price.

Yeh Miami is like thief ally or something...it really does suck that you can't keep a car in peace unless you have a gate or garage. But I like the 98-02 GS better for a daily plus I'd have a family car added to the collection along with my SC4.

With either the MKIII or the SC you are going to be shelling out some cash regardless. The S13 is not much of a comparison because you are really talking about a different car completely IMO. I know. I have 2 of them. The S13 is going to be so much easier on your wallet, but the MKIII or SC, if done right, has some serious baller status.
As for spending $650 on a roller, I would say look at this first. Here is an ad on Craigslist (http://lubbock.craigslist.org/cto/3008620271.html) I ran across yesterday from a guy in Albuquerque, NM who has one for sale that is not only complete for $6500, but is in pretty good condition...and a turbo car to boot!!!
Something you should consider before tackling a "roller".
