Well, test drove a 98 Mark VIII LSC. Nice car, definitely has more ***** than the SC400 V-8, but handling was much floatier, and the car drives like a boat compared to the nimbler Lexus. Lexus build quality is better. Though there is not as many cool gadgetry on the Lexus, there is less stuff to go wrong.iTherefore, keep looking for me people. Nice, clean SC400 preferably but open to SC300s like the one above where maintenance is up to date.

Another what's it worth thread...
Specs are a 1993 Jade Green/Grey leather SC300 auto with 94K. 2 owner rust free car, clean Carfax. Car is in great cosmetic condition. It has a new timing belt,water pump,drive belts, trans fluid,differential fluids,coolant,spark plugs,ignition coil and wires,fuel pump,new slotted rotor and ceramic pads(front and rear), wheel alignment recently because it has a new megan racing 15 way full adjustable coilovers(lowered), full obx headers and downpipe,(no cats,new o2 sensors),new megan racing dual exhaust,new injen short ram intake,and after market alarm,remote start,keyless entry and power trunk,new legal tinted windows and also after market euro tail light and 10 k hid kit(low beam only)....

Purchase made. I will post a thread up with pics once I get her home. It is the above, but it is not Jade Green. It is actually Silver Spruce Metallic, a beautiful color IMO. Here was the craigslist ad for it. 5th car I looked at and by far the best condition and deal. Thanks for all those whose helpful advice got me to this point. Dominick is the man!

I just did. It felt almost as stout as the v8s I have tested, down a little on torque, but the no cat, exhaust, headers, and intake that is on it probably make it quite close if not quicker than a stock pre 98 400.

SRTSC, Congrats on the purchase looks to be in great condition. I noticed the owner swapped out the Oem tail lights for after market. I would convert it back to Oem years of the Sc 300/400.
