Default Tow hooks with a bodykit

Iv been doing a lot ore track work lately and it is probably a good idea to install a tow hook (front and rear) in the event of me beaching myself.

I have a shine/autocouture body kit and I'm not sure what others have done to install the tow hook to make it look neat still.

I assume the soarers/sc300s do not have a stock tow hook location in the front bumper and it will need to be welded? I'd like it to be stealth, so was thinking maybe even going for some tow straps instead like those found on bmws

Where were you thinking of having it mounted?

I'm not really sure what you mean, but I would probably like one in the front and one in the rear.

Here is a picture of my car

You can get ones with hinges so that they just flop down

hinged + painted black + in the 2nd vent next to the fog light... could be the answer, nice and ninja

If you haven't seen autoboy's car - that is also where he put his front tow hook

Thanks for that, Ill have a look at the mounting points.

What do you do regarding the rear tow hooks?

3 options:

Give up a muffler and mount it in an exhaust hole like autoboy's

Cut through the bumper (if you have the stomach to slice into the kit) https://www.clublexus.com/forums/5348706-post202.html

Or make some custom mount that hangs lower that the lip, then protrudes

I cannot see how autoboy has mounted that front tow hook. There are no points to mount to the chassis from that location

I have in plan to install mine in the weekend, front Red folding tow hook, I've taken the idea from autoboy car when he use to have a 97 front bumper!! Let you know guys later!

Btw, in the front, you have to fab a braket.. no really other choice!

how is a tow hook in anyway "rice" when it's used for track and other proper uses...such as a tow.

Maybe it's different down here in FL but you see them a lot on every cookie cutter civic, integra etc that you know NEVER has/will see the track.

And in my opinion I see tow hooks as "my car is so unreliable, I never know when i'll need a tow" vs just being used as a precautionary measure.

I like the OP's car and complemented it but before this gets out of hand lets get back on topic.
