Default Radio sensitive to temperature

My stock pioneer radio with CD player in my 1993 SC300 is sensitive to the outdoor temperature after sitting out overnight. When the temperature drops to around 65 F or lower overnight, the radio or anything else associated with it,like the power antenna, will not come on first thing in the morning until the car is warm. This one has me puzzled. This has been going on for a few years. Fortunately, in Florida, we don't have a lot of very cold weather. When I do manage to turn it on after the cold temps., my presets are all gone. Any suggestions as to what I should be looking for ? Thanks.

I seem to remember a thread a year or two ago that someone had the same problem, cant remember what their solution was though.
Water underneath the cd changer/amp is a common problem with these cars. It may have nothing to do with your radio, but water plays magic tricks on eletrical systems when it wants to. I'd start with taking your cd changer/amp out and looking under there to see if theres a pool of water. Clean it out, dry the amp off and see if that helps..

Good suggestion. I'll give it a try and post it if I have a fix. Thanks.

when it's cold, my car stereo sounds like *** until it warms up and then it starts to sound normal.

Check the grounding also behind the stereo, I think it's attached to the bracket. If there's rust or it's dirty clean it up. Bad grounding usually causes electronics to malfunction.

Mine has a different "thing", whenever I'd turn up or turn down the volume the air flow button gets affected. If I turn it up, the air flow would go to air from outside option, if I turn it down it goes to air circulation inside. Doesn't happen as often though so I don't bother.

i had the exact same problem on my 94 sc. I thought it was the ground or power wire but it wasn't. ended up being a bad radio. I changed my radio to another stock on and haven't had a problem since.

I took out the CD and Amp. No moisture. The ground to the radio is good. I remembered that I had replaced the radio about 3 years ago with one I bought at EBay. It could be that when I installed it was during our warm spell and I didn't have the problem. Sucks getting old. Working on my vintage Mustang, my SC and my wife's LS400 is starting to wear me down.
