Default MK3 to SC4 - Project Hot Fire

Well to start off hello to everyone, name is cole and im here to party lol. I attend the University of Northwestern Ohio for High Performance and Automotive Tech, been out here sense summer of 09 and have 8 weeks till Im done. Anywho on a serious note I wanted to let everyone in on my little projects coming in and out of my garage. Back in summer of 08 I traded a 97 GSR for a stupid clean 88 turbo supra, its my baby and been toyota history ever sense. Has a fully blue printed 7m, Garrett 60-1, EVO 560cc injectors. dynoed just shy of 400hp. I have a Precision 6266 CEA waiting to go on here soon

A previous GF of mine had her gas tank fall out of her MK3 supra (yes fall out, dumb ohio cars rusting out) while back home in Indy one weekend and needed a car ASAP to get home. After about an hour of looking online I sent her to look at a decently clean SC4 and she fell in love. Little does she know so did I. After driving hers for a day or so I was sold on buying one. A good friend of mine happend to have a Jade green 94 SC4 with mint leather black interior. Price was $800, came with tastefull 18 wheels and brand new in box KYB GR-2 struts for the front and rear, only catch was there was an engine fire. Previous owner changed the starter out and didnt use new injector o-rings . (Hints why its called Projcet Hot Fire)

So I got the car back out to Ohio to start tearing it apart. needed a everything on top of the engine, a FULL engine bay body harness, and a master cylinder/ booster combo. I was using my other stock 88 supra as a DD but the good ol winter ohio weather didnt treat it so well and I a$$ packed a buick. So its getting a full part out now. BUT while searching for a new DD I happened to find a wrecked Blue SC4 in Columbus, OH. $900 later i had another full chasis and everthing I needed to swap over to my clean SC4. Currently the blue SC4 is almost completly stripped. Both 1uz's are stripped down and Im taking the electronics and Intake manifolds from the Blue SC4 (277xxx miles) and putting them on my Green SC4 (120xxx miles ).

I honestly cant wait for this project HOT FIRE to be completed. I have to say I love these Toyota/ Lexus vehicles. Il try to get some pics up of all the vehicles but with going to school 12 hrs a day, working 25+ hrs on weekends and these projects I dont have time for anything lol.

Sry about the epicly long post

Cole

Holy crap I just noticed you go to school for 12 hours a day! what is all that about? what are you going for?

Maybe you will motivate me to do the same thing this fall. When I start my second degree.

Well the 1uz is all back together and im waiting on getting the body harness back in the vehicle. Just swappped all the abs stuff and brake master / booster combo. Should have the motor back in the car this weekend.

g4ebguy90 - Im going for High performance / auto tech. Usually we only have one class a day, but I have been out here in ohio for almost 3 years and Im ready to move back to Indy. So that means taking 2 classes a day. My last set of classes went from 630pm to 630am!! I'll be done here in 7 weeks tho. =)

well 1uz is back in the bay.... got everything wired up and ready to go.... the intake piping got damaged from the fire and the wreck so Im searching for another. Ill prolly end up just making a custom one. still tried to start it with a bunch of leaks after the AFM, ran for about 4 sec then it kept dying. Really dont like toyotas AFM set up on these and the supras, why couldnt they just go with a map like the jz's?? lol while messing around trying to get it to idle the starter signal wire came of -_- so had to pull the intake manifold again and rewire it for a better connection. Hopefully she will be done by thursday =)
