I am in Az so cannot go to Tx for Swap on my 99. I need to verify how to get it through emissions b4 paying local shop to do it. Can you please give us detailed info or contact info of guy who did swap on tricking the computer so no CEL? The last guy who did this swap on 98+ was SOL when a tranny code registered for emissions

i have been lagging on doing this to my 98 vvt-i...this just pushed me over the edge and am going to start this this weekend. congrats on your little one...pm me your number so we can collaberate what u did so i can HOPEFULLY not get the dreaded cel as i have the AWSOME california emmision's....

Wiring wise it's the same scenario when you do an R154 or W58 on 98-2000 SC300 , pull the solenoid out of the Auto trans and just plug them on the trans harness!

Off the subject a little, is the VVTi 3.26 a standard 8" ring and pinion? I'm looking for a higher gear for my Cressida 5-speed swap. BTW I did the swap myself, it was a lot of work, cudos to those who have done it.
