Default recover your seat for $50

So we've kicked around the seat cover thing here for ages. For many it makes sense to spend $500-$700 on custom leather seats, for others a cheaper alternative in the $300 price range. For many more you'd just as soon throw your bedspread over it............

Back in the mid 00's the old lady bought herself a leather seat cover on one of our SC's she drove daily (our Sandstone 93). It was a $50 pep boys leather cover and despite my complaint about it not having little tabs you could tighten the leather with (it just pretty much laid on and had a simple tie off at the bottom) the fact is that the damn thing matched the rest of the leather really well. A lot better in fact than these $200-$300 ebay deals we see right now.

So I was out today and stopped in Pep Boys to tool around and saw the revised version of these covers here 5 years later. They are still $49 and still match the leather well, but NOW they tie down and fit with elastic and are a MUCH better improved fittment than the old ones were we used in the mid 00's on her car.

There may be two different boxes to look for, as they redesigned the boxes this year and some old stock is on the shelf.

Note the pouch for smokes and sunglasses in the front.

So now not only do they match up, they are a real nice fit, and the price is right.

Before I pissed away $200-$300 on seat covers from ebay I'd give these a look.

I've had them in our Sanstone SC and it never even got scratched. The pics above are of the seat cover at 2 years old. Might be an alternative, give it a look.

Wait a sec, what vendor are you talking about getting mounds of bad feedback? The guys I got mine from are still at 100% positive. The people I got mine from have an ebay store and a webstore. They auction them on ebay with no reserve so you can get them MUCH cheaper than in their web store. Are we talking about different peeps?

irrelevant to someone with an SC with half it's paint faded.

Mine may be in nearly mint shape, but a huge majority aren't and they have no motivation to put $600 seats in their car.

What are you trying to say about O.L.T.'s lady? Lol.

I might look into this as a temp solution to worn seats!

We are talking about a 20 year old Lexus here. Who cares what the ladies think? They usually just scream annoyingly or ***** at you when you punch it anyways. Then they wear short shorts and complain when the leather burns their legs.

With that said, they do come in handy for instrumentation assistance when you can't watch all your gauges AND the road...

These look decent and are a good temporary solution. If it floats your boat and the price was right then rock on.
