Default Hello from NM

Glad to join all of you, as I just attained a '92 SC400, which has under 96K miles. My previous car, a 94 Subaru SVX, had the transmission go bad (due to fluid leak, though that got repaired). I knew I'd be better with a replacement
car than transmission, and after much looking (I retired early after 25 years with DEC/Compaq/HP, so probably do too much web surfing) limited my search for an SC300/400, and was happy to find one that looks almost new, even under the hood. It's a great car, though geared lower than the SVX, which used to do 2500 RPM for 75mph (our Interstate speed limit). The SC goes about 65 at that RPM. I was surprised that the remote key even worked when I replaced the 1616 battery in it, and I'll have to rig up something for the button, which was missing as well. That's minor, as Lexus can't supply that, though they can a new key at a few hundred dollars. I was happy without it, but glad it still works fine.

Hey all. I just picked up my second SC. It's a 1992 SC300, auto. Picked it up for $1700. It needs A LOT of work, the previous owner was basically a careless slob. But it has plenty of potential and I can't wait until the weather warms up so that I can start wrenching. Right now the only modifications are some no-name exhaust, Tanabe lowering springs, and staggered 19" Motegi Touge wheels, front 19x8 rear 19x10. Unsure of the offset. This was all done by the previous owner. It drives like a big rock on wheels, so I'll be doing a different suspension setup first chance I get.

My first SC was a 1997 SC400 that I had a little work into. I loved that piece. Had Supra TT shocks w/ Eibach Pro Kit's, 8000k HID, 3000k yellow fogs, dual Magnaflow 14829's w/ deleted resonators. Had to sell this car in January of 2010 after I was laid off from my job and I've been pouting about it ever since, so I'm glad I'm back with another one.

Pics of the new one.

Howdy, new member. I'm not actually a Lexus owner, my son is. He has a 95 SC400, and I have no pictures of it. The thing is, I'm the gearhead and he isn't, so it is left to me to ask the questions. See ya round the funny pages!

Hey everyone,

My name is Mike and I have a 98 SC300 that I bought in Dec. 09. At that time I was looking at getting a Nissan pickup or GS300 for a daily driver. I was on auto trader and happened to find a pearl white SC300 near me. Back then I did not know much about SC's but they looked good to me so I went to go test drive it. The car really impressed me and before the end of the day I was the new owner. Since then I have been slowly modifying it with aftermarket wheels, stereo, lights, and suspension. Anyways I found this forum to be very helpful to me and I hope to be able to do the same.

Hi erybody, i'm Roc Cadet and I recently purchased my 95 SC 400 from a car auction. I got too lucky because its condition has been kept so well that the car has given me little to no problems. And absolutely no engine lights. 287,000 miles crazy!

I wanna drop a v6 supra turbo, chrome rims, suspension upgrade, and full ent. sys.

Hello, New to Club, Need help on Power Steering issue, I've read many posts on similar issues because my 94' SC400's Power Steering leaked on Alternator and killed it. I replaced Alternator and am going to replace Power Steering Unit. I read that the O-Ring on Resevoir should be changed and that the Rack Solenoind Filter should be replaced or cleaned. Where is the Rack Solenoid Filter located cause the rest I got? Thanks Anyone if I could get some Pics.Name: 994LexusSC400.jpg

Hi all,
I am sorta new to this forum. I recently purchased a white 92 sc300 near the end of summer last year. The motor was strong and the paint wasn't bad. I really wanted a Lexus as a daily driver. I hope this is not the last one I own. Even with its minor issues, it is a Lexus that keeps going. This is a pic of it soon after I purchased it.
