How did you become aware of the SC?

saw an ad for a "lexis sc4o0" or something (definitely LexIs, with an "i") for $400. ran like ****, drove like ****, but it was cheap, and I knew I could fix it. I was looking for a car to flip at the time, that's the only reason I went to look at it.
So far, I have been right (except the door panels... ugh fracking gray interior...)
Like others, I hadn't ever really noticed the SC until I purchased one. Probably because all the other SC's in town belong to old ladies. And the fact that it's a Japanese car meant it was "probably a front wheel drive" car also meant I didn't care.
Happy to say I was wrong about many things about these cars.

SC's were always my dream cars from the first time i saw one. It was a dream back in the day because they were so expensive. About 4 years ago i seen a used sc400 for 5gran but it was in awful condition, and i almost bought it since for me it was a dream just owning one even if it was in terrible condition. 2 years later i finally found an sc300 but it had a blown head and some cosmetic problems,so i couldnt resist anymore and i bought it for $1800, and man i was so happy to finally own my dream car, so since then (2 years later)i'm still working it out and i love every time i drive it ....even without the interior sometimes, lol

it was back in 06 when i was selling my old Turbo'd 91 civic si, i was looking at all kinds of cars to see which would be best for me but didn't really find any within my price range. one of my buddies told me about the SC300, at that time i didn't know much about them but have seen stock ones around town before but never really payed much attention. after doing more research about the car, i quickly learned how much potential the car has. later that year i joined CL and bought a 93' SC300 manual from the CL classifieds lol.

i never noticed the sc until my mom was going to buy one for 7k from this crummy used car dealer. i think i was about 15 or so at the time so this was in like 2004. was a lightish blue/ silver 96 with black interior. somethin was wrong with the car but i cant remember what because i was young and knew nothing about cars. all i remember is the car use to randomly stall. my mom who also knew nothing about cars liked it so much she left a down payment on the car and was going to pay the rest in cash once it was fixed and the guy agreed the price would stay the same because "it was somethin minor." few days later after he gets it check out by a mechanic he wanted to boost the price up because of how costly the repairs were going to be. my mom didnt want to pay the extra $$ for repairs so he return her money and she never ended up getting a sc. after that i started noticing how popular they were in my area. it seemed like everyone had one on 20s and thats when i really started wanting one. i told myself that would be my 1st car but it wasnt, ended up being my 2nd (1st car was a 93 acura legend coupe) but im now 22 and have had 3 sc's im hooked lol

Ueno really got me hooked these cars. Especially in the older ikaten, doritens and BM magazines. Back in the day when he was using his personal car to slide everywhere and also promote his company T & E. Maybe 04? I was hooked on 180sx' and what not and that got boring. I saw the SC as an alternative and I always loved the idea of that big of a car sliding.
I test drove a 99 sc300 when I was first driving and fell in love with the car completely. Didnt actually pick one up until recently, but I have always loved these cars.
Plus meeting Ueno in person at a D1 event really put the cake on the icing for me.

I was on a highway one day and saw an interesting vehicle pass me on the left....It was an SC400. That image stuck in my mind until a week later when I went to the dealership, test drove one, and placed my order......19 years ago

I was at Import Face Off about when I was 15, walked up on a rhd slammed green car. Walked around the back and blurted out what the fu*k is a SOARER? The owner just so happened to be standing right there.

My boss called me one day (back when I was 18 or so) and said he bought a Lexus and he was going to change the exhaust.
After laughing, I never thought twice about it and hung up. He pulled up in and I was in love, the exhaust was great (SC400) and the car was in mint condition.
I loved that car and wanted one but never could find one. I finally got mine at 23 and will never give it up. It is my "dream car" (whereas most people dream about Ferraris etc)
