Welp, i lost my only key :(
Went out last night as shawn kemp for halloween and my only key fell out of sweat pants. Should I just do the core change? Im not loaded so I may just have to do the ignition core change...
Anybody have this happened? How hard would it be for me to do the core changes?
Help me so I can it when I come home for thanksgiving break!

I don't know what you need for the dealers other than proof of title to the car and your license.
If that information can be faxed, have Sewell Lexus cut you a new master key or a master with keyless entry button, plus a new matching keyless entry chip. That is for any 92-96(I think) early SC's. 97-00 (I think) use a different master key with more buttons which don't require the installation of a new microchip.
Just recently, someone posted a DIY with pictures on how to install a new microchip in a 92-96 car. Look that up and don't pay the dealer another $200+ to install it. It's tedious to do but will save you money when you will have already paid a couple hundred for a new wireless key set.
A plain non-remote master key is MUCH cheaper to get and requires no microchip to install. The cut patterns are always VIN-specific.
Also, for the cars requiring a microchip, you have to order however many keys you want now or later as a set. They are all tied to that chip. You can't buy another remote master key later when you want a second one. I had this problem when I wanted my broken keyless entry to work again (1993 model). I had to order two remote master keys with a chip. My old key could be reprogrammed to work with the ignition again (don't know how that was done) but for any remote entry I absolutely HAD to buy the number of keys I eventually wanted all at once.
Again, for a non-remote master, valet key or wallet key it is easier and cheaper.
Good luck.
