Always wondered that! Maybe that's why when I blast my ipod nobody can hear it on the outside!

Sc is a much better built car then a fox body so it dosent need a whole loud of sound deadening.

Only 15lbs? Doesnt even seem worth the effort to take it out now. Good info, thank you for sharing cause that was going to be my next thing to do on my SC.

Hmm, thats less than I thought too. I've probably added about that much or more already in the trunk area.

Now before this goes too much farther, I have received and read some contradicting information stating that there is closer to 30lbs of sound deadening material in the cabin of the SC focused mainly in the front floor pans and around the trans tunnel...

So, before my new seat comes in, Im going to start ripping, scraping, and freezing some of the junk out. But seems to me bottom line if you want to shed weight in your SC, ditch the 117lb (combined weight) stock front seats.

youre the one brought up your mustang not me. You can put 90 lbs of sound deadning in a mustang and and still going to be loud inside.

90lbs of sound deadner in a 4cyl econo-box?? shouldnt need all that, in fact before i swapped my car it was quiet as a mouse will driving it around. i said i expected more sound deadner in a
sc because this was a $45,000 car when it was new and sound deadner decreases sound and temperatures from coming thru the floor so a little extra wouldnt hurt a luxury coupe

and moving on.......

Sound deadening in the SC is a good thing and at only 15 lbs I'd keep it. Of course if your exhaust is rice-a-licious and louder than your girlfriend screaming in the pass seat it probably doesn't matter.
