Should I? SC400 1997

I am going to agree with everyone else here. That thing is a 92- 94 pass it up. I would hold on for awhile keep saving and buy one from a member here from the classifieds. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lex...assifieds-154/
If i waited and saved I could have bought one a hr away that is na-t. http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/2623608832.html

Why I didn't look for this thread or something like it when I bought my first SC is beyond me now.
It really sucks, looking for a new car- unless you are making the search part of the adventure. I was fortunate in that I had a reliable DD, so looking for a new whip was something I could do in my free time. Since this is your first car, you're more likely to have buyer's pre-remorse (the feeling of not wanting to make an obvious mistake). I wish I could tell you the search will get easier, but I'd be selling you a bill of goods.
If you have the money to drop on it, then Ebay is generally a good source. I bought mine a month ago, flew to NJ and drove it back (never did that before, will think twice before doing it again). I paid a little more than I had expected, but the peace of mind I have and the joy I get from driving it are priceless. I would caution you against buying a fixer upper, though; as many have stated, ours are not cheap to repair and some of those parts are nigh on impossible to find.
If not, a beater may suffice in the meantime. Just keep saving your $$$, and the opportunity will present itself. I believe in good Kar-ma, but sometimes you have to bank it before you can withdraw it. I owned two POS's in the last ten years before I lucked out in the "sports car" category.

Patience is defintely a virtue when you are looking for one of these vehicles.
I spent over 2 years looking on and off for a nice SC and finally found mine back in February.
Had only 35.5k miles and runs like brand new. I driver it all the time and jus luvs it.
So take your time and keep looking. You'll find it.

I honestly would pass. Now knowing its a 1992-1994 body.
Also you are planning to do payments so it probably is going to be more than $5000 by the time you are done paying it off.
Save up. Buy outright. Enjoy

Dude save your money and drive to Dallas. Right now I know where there is a 94 5speed SC300 that you can get for $3200. The interior is clean and the car runs like a bat out of hell. I know because I almost bought it. I ended up buying a 95 SC400 with a full 97 conversion for $1500 because it has a salvage title just need a 97 bumper (I got one in my garage). PM me I can help you with your search.
