Default Dash cluster ideas...want some opinions

Ok getting closer to the finishing touches on my LS1 build, and decided the stock cluster is just boring and not cutting it. So I have been tossing around a few ideas between Autometer digital gauges (or some other brand) in white, RX8 and possibly AP1 S2000 clusters.

I have Dakota boxes for both the speedometer and tachometer, so only issue really is cluster dimensions, fuel and temp sending units, which leaves plenty of room for choices. Now I know I can do LED/Lextech lighting on my stock cluster, but blah..been done, I want something new and different.

Any suggestions or opinions would be great. Digital, even better, or a mix similar to the RX8 cluster....and no digital Soarer clusters, dont want to hassle with the KPH to MPH conversion. Also trying to keep it under $300, so Stack is out of the question.

Thats why it caught my eye, and I think it may be the final choice

KPH, I like the Soarer cluster and it would keep me from having to make brackets and what not, but the kph is killing me.

I think thats what Im going to do, and will do my best to take notes along the way on how I hook everything up. Just need to find one with a harness.

I think S2k it is. Just found the cluster pinout for the AP1 and AP2, so I can make either one work. I would love a Stack dash, but for that price I could get coilovers..so a "cheap" alternative it is.

Yup, just got finished looking at them. And got in contact with an AP2 owner that happens to have an LS1, and he said the gauges work perfectly with the Dakota Digital boxes for speedo/tach, and the stock LS1 temp sending unit hooked up and read perfectly. So that only leaves the fuel sending unit, which I dont see it being a problem.

So AP2 it is, and found a place I can get one with the harness for $250 shipped, with the ODO set to the 65K miles the LS1 has on it. Wont be 100% accurate, but will be close.
