I accidently put in 87 once and it ran like ****. So i got octane booster for that tank and will NEVER fill my Sc400 up with less than 93 / 91

I don't want to risk anything besides it's an expensive car.

Honestly the price difference to fill up is a few bucks. If it matters that much then buy a car that requires 87. I'm sure Lexus knew what they were doing when they put the premium sticker only on the gas cap.

I started using the cheap gas a few weeks ago and i felt a BIG difference in power and also gas milage. I have learn that it better to run 93octane and works out cheaper in the long run. How remember when 93octane was like $1.97

used 87 octane since the day i bought it about a year and a half ago started experimenting with off road octane boosters which were great then put in premium for the first time a few days ago it feels a little better but the 87 with octane booster was the greatest difference than just regular 87. No knocking yet but need a new clutch.

If you're worried about paying extra for premium, maybe you shouldn't be driving around in a gas guzzling, RWD, V8/I6 sports coupe. Get a honda.

these engines are high compression. you have to run 91+ octane or it will knock and the ECU will dock the timing back, which will make you lose power.

Seems like only yesterday when those of us in the pic didn't care at all about gas mileage. At those prices it was almost free!

I run 91 from Shell. V-Power. I just don't "feel" like anything less than that is right. I wish I had access to 93 though.

I believe that article is referring to low grade and mid grade vehicles. 93 or premium will increase your mileage and your engine will perform better, why would you wanna be cheap about that?

I just dropped in a K&N filter and my mileage went up from 280 miles a tank to 430 miles a tank. Mostly was highway so maybe 390 miles a tank on my usual route. I'm more than happy with that running a V8.
