Default Double Din setup?

Anyone have pics of a double-din setup in their SC?

I'm thinking about picking up a cheap unit off eBay. They have no-brand asian ones for $250.

LOL I had the same reaction I was like "wtf that's a pioneer?...." haha. That's a great price installed btw, and a great unit. I just picked up the F90bt for the supra and damn do I love it!

The Metra kit is what you want as well for fitment - there's a thread on here though about how to reinforce it as it's made of plastic and wont be as durable as the factory cage/mount. Search for that and you'll be good to go.

I made a car pc. This is the touch screen then i have the pc under the passenger seat and the amp controlling the speakers under mine.

Ignore the fact it says bmw haha that was a display map on the ECU before.

I run Winamp of all things with a nice skin (car one) for the sound system then VLC for video's but that doesn't go on often.

I know we need the trim ring to make the double din fit the opening but why a new cage? Every other double din Toyota product lets you re-use the factory brackets. Just eyeballing the SC brackets, they look like they have the standard screw locations. What's so different?

It may be obvious if I tried to mount a new radio but so far I only have the stocker removed.

i didnt need a cage when i did mine, all i used was the metra kit, it does have the right holes for mounting
many ppl will mod the metra kit with the stock brackets for extra support, i didn do it and my dash is holding up fine but each to his own on taking the risk, the metra is plastic and pretty flimsy

You're not using frontend software?

Looks more like windows XP to me, doesn't mean it can't be a mac though.

I thought about carputer at one point, but I didn't look too deep into how GOOD of sound quality you could get and the interface with aftermarket amplifiers
