To all that roll low, how do you deal with scraping?

Well, i just gave my car a good look over underneath and the oil/tranny pan are more recessed than i thought. What's been taking the major jolts is the subframe and occasionally the front tow hooks. The front tow hooks usually scrape on inclines/declines. I also checked my frame rails and they're pretty scratched up but i'm not worried. But to my whole idea of putting on some kind of steel slider rail, my frame rail is 1.5" off the ground, so that's not going to fly. Lol. Thank god i don't have a body kit.

I always find it funny when people have their stupid car so low that the front bumper or sideskirts are torn up from hitting a dip or a steep driveway. Especially when its aftermarket bumpers/sideskirts that they paid to have put on and then torn up.

Since i got my 99 sc i decided to raise the coilovers higher.....and it is the best decision i ever made! i miss the slammed look but being able to go over speed bumps instead of going sideways while hearing scraping, not having any rubbing issues, and able to park front in is worth it to meeeeee. Oh and not to mention going thru $300 rear tires faster due to camber is my favorite!!! The look i miss yes, but now i feel that life is much easier Lol!

This isn't rocket science.
Wheel and tire size are a huge part. 18's are a fairly happy medium but I see these guys running 225/35 or 215/40 or 35. Not doing yourself any favors. Man sized tires fit with some time spent clearancing inner fender wells. They also give you the extra height to keep the frame off the ground and still let you turn a corner.
Spring rates are also huge. Too soft a rate and under compression the suspension bumps too much over bumps and well, you guessed it. Sure it's going to ride like a brick **** house but your the one who wanted to destroy your suspension geometry anyways so it may as well not move much at all.
Getting rid of all the trouble spots, ie tow hooks, low exhaust is going to alleviate a huge amount of issues. If your going to run aero pick something that doesn't elongate our cars already thousand mile long nose too much so it doesn't act like a shovel any more than it already will. Or dont pick side skirts that don't sit right on the ground.
Poly bushings and an alignment that favors tire contact help a little as well.
There are happy mediums to achieve all over the car. All the little things add up and hopefully lead to something somewhat drivable.

Well said Dv8.
I'm going to cut out some of the inner front fender wells soon, I already took Thor's hammer too them.
Does anyone make a custom skid plate for the sc?
I thought about fabbing one up, or even ghetto rigging one out of a stop sign for some protection underneath.

Maybe I'm just an old man here at 28, but one of the big reasons I bought this car was for the smooth ride and quietness. I just liked that it had a similar feel to the LS400 but didn't look like some old duffer's ride.
