yeah u kinda get raped when it comes to buy certain items. i got hosed buying a front bumper and side skirts. but they are so hard to find for 97 body parts. u just gotta pay if u wanna get the look u dream about for your car.
i am thinking the Vertex Lip will work for me. or the big win. i just think they are over priced!

i removed my sc400 lip to tow my car back home and it was a *****!!
the mounting brackets just didn't want to come off so i wound up leaving the alum support pieces in the lower bumper and yanking the lip off. no cracks facing it. but i need to do some work to get the sob back on there.

I think it all depends on driving style, and were you plan to drive your car. for example me, I go to Tijuana Mexico (not the perfect streets)once in a while, and a slammed car with carbon fiber lip,or painted lip, will hurt if you crack them.
And a cheap lip will not hurt as much.
But if you live in Japan, or somewhere were streets and driveways are OK, A expensive Lip will be worth !!!!

the HD lip fits my needs perfectly, I think its subtle, its flexable and able to take some abuse.
Dont be so quick to be calling people cheap...

I believe not all SC400's came with the OEM front lip. I'be been to the pick-a-part a few time this month looking for LS calipers. Saw 4 SCs and non of them had his lip. I'm pretty sure it was a factory option. If you get if your thinking of getting it from the dealer, don't. The hardware alone is, I believe $300, from what I've heard. If your lucky enough to find one at pick-a-part, pick it up. Installation is simple and almost self explanatory. I prefer the black cause if you scrape, you can re-paint with flat black rattle can.
