i agree! i hate butchery! i could understand if the car was trashed like an 89 Chevy Sprint.

but this is a ****'n lexus. if you have a nice car just leave it be. especially if all the bits work.

spray paint the fuse box cover neon pink or something if you really gotta tart up your car in a bad way.

I think removable fiberglass panel would be the best idea. I hate my sunroof, i cant even tilt it without sun frying my head

didnt know that they made a hardtop... but thats how i made my GST one... i dont think if u weld somehting in the hole of the sunroof it will come out good or last long... on mine, my body guy cut the whole roof of a gs eclipse (with no sunroof) and welded it on.

butchery... nah i dont think so. some ppl have wide body welds and fabricated on there car, some ppl have there car so low the bottom of there car is tore up to crap... i think to each is own, if the OP wants to do i say go for it... its different and different in my book is better then all the same.

It can be done with no bondo or welding just use panel bond which is very very strong and will hold as good as a weld.

to do it properly it needs to be welded and definitely bondo is necessary.

That panel bond is an adhesive thats all, you need bondo to blend in and smooth the area your working on.

Yes you can attach the piece with panel bond but the finishing work is another story.

Well of course you will need some filler to smooth/blend but you will not have to lather up a sculpture from bondo which is fail on so many levels.

No welding is nessary if you know what you are doing, I have done many many 1/4 panel bonds etc with no welds.

Ive only seen 1 SC3 and 1 SC4 with hardtop. A good body man could do it. Also although theres no other rust in the car, there is a line along the top of the windsheild to fix.

I've seen a couple of soarers with hard tops.

Here's an old post with a picture (second one down)
