Default 1JZ help please!! need any information you have!

Hi all,

im new on here, just signed up and im from the UK. 1JZ swaps are realy not all that common over here and im doing it to my R33 gtst skyline as im in need of my 3rd engine, and RB'S just done take the abuse i put it through drifting it on a regular basis. I figured i should seek help and advice from the USA as all the threads and searching i do for swaps and info lead me to US forums, as its a common transplant / vehicle to use.

I am after any info on what power the engines can take, what they redline at, what problems they suffer from, what standalone management they respond best to that doesnt cost the earth, and any other tuning info that will restrict me.

Im aiming for 500 fwhp using a Borg worner top mount turbo, 38mm external waste gate, 550/600cc denso injectors with a sard rrfpr, and walbro fuel pump. trying to keep it reliable as possible but need decent power!!

So far i have brought what we call them over here a lexus soarer, its in automatic transmition, and is standard. 1jz gte engine code, 60k, full service history, and a cold compression test showed it to be 170-175 psi accross all cylinders.

sorry if this comes accross as random, i just have no idea about the 1jz yet, i can do RB25 with my eyes closed but just need experiance from people who actualy run 1jz!!

cheers guys!!

chill out. give it more than a day for people to respond. you could take matters into your own hands and do a little searching: "1jzgte" is a good way to start. you could even find the information on wikipedia about the 1jz motor

All the newbs are so impatient these days.

yeah... i spent a while lurking and learned quite a few things on my own. everything you could want to know has been covered a million times here and people are understandably tired of answering the same question 100+ times. search function = your friend.
