I have the same problem with my trunk. It used to open with the inside switch then it stopped working. I can still pop it with the key however.

I dont like rehashing old threads but i did a dash swap back in november i was unable to use the trunk release button so i pulled out the section that holds those buttons and all you have to do is unplug the connection and put power to it and it will open the trunk....as i was doing this i thought hey i bet the button is locked so i looked at the backside of the lock since i dont have the original key for that dash and there is a small black square in a groove over to the far right...simply take a flat head screw driver and slide the black square to the left and it will drop down the groove....it is now unlocked and ready to go....hope this helps someone in the future

This is hilarious this old thread helped me out . I was going crazy because my trunk switch wouldn't work, I look on here and it was a no brainer lol. The switch was locked, so I unlocked it and now it works lol

Another method of getting the trunk switch to work is to unlock it yourself. If you don't have access to the valet key (most of us don't) or bumped the lock with your knee or something, just remove the lower trim piece that has 3 philips head screws, remove the clip-in panel to the left of the steering wheel to reveal another philips head screw, remove that screw and pull the panel down to where you have access to the locking cylinder in between the gas and trunk release. You will see a small metal band incircling the lock cylinder, move that to the left to reveal a small black button that is pressed, get a screwdriver and press it and it will retract and the cylinder is unlocked and your trunk release works! I've had to do this twice...

that is good to know in case its locked accidentally. I think there is a release handle in the trunk but if you can't get in the trunk that is not going to really help at all.
