$40 in gas and $2960 in a savings account at your local credit union.

Haha all you guys giving him financial advise assume that $3000 is all the money he has . He saved up FOR his SC and now he's ready to spend it! Good looking out though everybody

I agree 100% with everything ScBouncE said, except that you may want to deal with suspension first and get control arms, tie rods, sway bars, all of your suspension parts inspected and replaced as needed. That can get expensive but nothing impacts your enjoyment of your car more than ride quality, so take care of that first thing

not sure what the OP decided, as this thread is a couple of months old, but my $.02:
depending on what parts you need, you will need to consider labor.
personally, I do almost all my own work, but there's some things I can't do:
alignment (can get close enough to spec to drive it somewhere to get done)
welding (cousin can, but his hours are crazy, and getting him out to do anything is a chore)
tire mounting/balancing (not gonna try)
various machine work (lack of tools/experience)

whatever a person decides, LABOR can (and frequently does) cost more than the parts you want.
