Sounds like an exhaust leak. Let it sit over night to get completely cold, crawl under and have someone start it up. Look and feel around for a leak, you can use a length of heater hose held to your ear to probe around also. If you can't find anything have the person rev the motor.

As it heats up the metal may expand enough to hide the leak or make it harder to pinpoint. I had a leak and it was puffing out tons of exhaust when cold, after running for a while it was barely noticeable.

just go to a muffler shop and have them weld together a new system for you. i got my y-pipe fabbed up for a little over $200. I can't imagine a single outlet going for much more.

All depends on material and type of labor.

Mild steel - Stainless
Flanges - V-bands
MIG - TIG

You could possibly get a simple, mild steel set-up for under $200.
Stainless, TIG'd, v-band set-up can run over $1000.
