SC400 seat back (netting)
Very new to CL and do not claim to know "jack" about autos. But, have been enjoying this site and have learned much - and have even made some repairs to my '97 SC400. One of my "fixes" was to repair the sagging netting on the backs of the seats. Lots of fun just getting the seat back off but was finally successful w/o ruining anything. Netting looks OK but not perfect. Now the problem is getting the seat backs back on. Are the two interchangeable? Or are they somewhat different. They appear to be the same to the untrained eye. The larger hooks at the top inside of the seat back are black on one side and white on the other. I wasn't smart enough to notice the differing colors when I finally got the back off. Now when I attempt to re-attache the backs by hooking those "hooks," they tend to stay firmly secure on one side but not the other. I feel that I can get both sides secure and then when I put the two screws back in at the bottom of the seat back, one side of the upper hooks has come loose. Very frustrating.
Any ideas on what a rookie might be doing to cause himself such frustration?
