Doing a burnout and allowing the car to shift will kill the sprags which is the weak link but if you avoid shifting the car while it is spinning then they have been known to handle north of 700whp and run single digits in the 1/4.

I misunderstood then.

My first one (the original) had the slipping clutch packs. The one in there now (the replacement) isn't shifting properly and is making weird noises - for example, today it revved to 6875 rpms before shifting. Don't know why, I take pretty god care of my car as a whole.

Do you have toyota oem fluid in it? If not that is the problem as they will not use anything else.

That stuff has friction modifiers that are very critical to the performance and life of the auto trans so even if there is a little bit of dex merc it will fail as I had an old es300 that I purposely put dex/merc in to see if it would have any effect before I sent it to the junk yard and it lasted all of 1,200 miles and started acting funny the same day I flushed the trans.

I just had to know if it mad any difference and it did.

Well said! I wish I never get sick of manual! 10 years with manual and still loving it! Hope the pasion never dies.

Haha I am only 34 but my body feels like I am 54 I am losing my edge that I had when I was in my 20's so I guess I am throwing in the towel and no longer fighting to be young anymore

newer made autos are fine, an auto from a 18 year old car isn't.

the technology has changed so much since then.
