So, I doubt any of u remember me, if u do great, but no reason to cause sorry but im now a bimmer owner
but moving on to lexus stuff- my car has been in the shop for around 4-5months or so for engine problems, my dad just picked it up today, and he drove it, i have not seen or driven it yet, but he says it drives fine, but when it idles it will rev randomly up to about 4k rpms sometimes so i know i dont have hardly any info for u all and i apologize, but if u have any idea what the problem would be, i would like to know, my dad might figure it out and work on it sooner or later, but he is way too busy to even look at it, but if anyone has had this problem with theirs or knows what wrong, how to fix it, all advice would be greatly appreciated- if not, thank u for looking anyway
btw: a couple years ago, we had a similar problem yet not as severe and my dad bought a new computer for it and that fixed it, not sure if it the same problem, he will probably try that first or resetting it

yes i agree with what scviolence said.

also you may be right about the computer as well.

the one problem with these sc's is they can have alot of myst5ery problems like this i notice and they are no fun to diagnose.

if thios problem only happens when it idles the iacv might be a good start .

good luck and keep us posted.

My guess would be a vacuum leak. I've been researching those same symptoms since my Saturn does that too, and all of my research pointed to a vacuum leak.

Update: As of now, the car Is Fixed! Woo! hopefully it stays that way
My dad replaced the "Idle Valve"? Not sure if that is the full name or not, but that's what he told me. Anyway she is running strong, but probably wont be with me for much longer, he's a dealer, and i have a different car now, so he is most likely gonna sell her.
