Your opinions on my ball joints
Ok here is the deal. My suspension is the next big item for me. Steers great, but get a clunk over speed bumps and such. Feels loose when moving forward in short bursts, brakeing as well. So my plan is to replace all of the busings in the control arms and the steering rack. I dont want to replace components that dont need to be replaced. Shocks and springs will be replaced. Here are some pictures of my ball joints. To me, the lowers look good and the uppers seem to be questionable. Tell me what you think. I realize this should probably be in the suspension forum, but this section sees more traffic.

Those are the same symptoms that I had, and I was ready to replace ball joints and bushings as well. But it turned out not to be the problem. After new shocks, the problem disappeared. The old ones were pretty loose inside.

Shocks are definatly going to be replaced, but those upper ball joints look pretty crappy, so I will probably replace just the uppers. Anyone know where I can find just stock springs. Dont want to buy from the dealer and all of the aftermarkets seem to be lowering springs. I dont want lowering springs.

I am pretty sure what response I will receive for this question. The dorman UCA's that you can buy on Rock Auto. Is there a huge difference in quality from the $280 OEM's from Lexus.

With lowering springs from Eibach or Tanabe am I going to be sacrificing ride quality? I want to get that legendary ride quality back. I'm not a street racer nor do I have a desire to be. But I like the look of the body kits and the lower look does look better. So if I get lowering springs am I going to be fixing ball joints again in a year.
