Default A/C fan/thermostat not working

Hi,

I'm facing a strange problem. About 4 months back, my A/C compressor clutch died and the A/C stopped working. Because its winter, I wasn't really concerned about it and figured I would deal with it this coming summer. The fan was working as well as the heater. Tonight, a new problem arose; the entire climate control system shut down. I can't turn on the fan, I can't turn on the heater or set the temperature, I can't turn on my rear defroster, and even my outside temperature gauge is blank. Nothing else is wrong with the car. It runs perfectly fine, everything else in the console cluster works such as the MPG, mileage, radio, etc. Its just anything related to the climate control unit has shut off.

Could this be related to the A/C compressor, or could it be the climate control unit died, or could it be something else?

Have you checked your fuses?

If its a blown fuse, what's involved in repairing it? Does it cost much to replace? How much would stealerships charge to repair it or can a local shop do it for cheaper?

reach down on the driver side kick panel find the blown fuse put a new one in and your done, or check the fuse box in the engine bay. a whole variety pack of fuses will prolly cost u like 4 bucks..

^^ like the man said. Fuse replacement is a "user" function; no stealership required. Look in the owner's manual and it's all explained there. If you don't have a manual, you can get one free from Lexus website. (Dd a search here for "free owner manual" if you need the link)

Went to autozone today and bought a fuse repair kit. It did turn out to be the cig lighter fuse that blew. I guess a coin or something got into it. Long story short, its working again. Thanks for all your help guys.
