So I'm doing the same old same old 1j and R154 swap. I'm going to buy a one piece custom driveshaft but I want to go ahead and buy it before the motor and trans are in the car so I don't have to wait on the driveshaft once they are in. I obviously can't measure for it now but the way I see it all the SC's with similar drop-in motor/trans swaps should have the same length driveshaft right?

So, any of you out there have measurements for the custom one piece driveshafts you're running along with what company you used? Is there a company who will possibly know the length I need for my setup if I buy from them?

im doin a 1jz swap into my sc also but im keeping the auto tranny and just building it for 600hp. I dont know about the drive shaft havent messed with that yet. But i will be getting lsd.

If you are not hurting to have the car drivable, I would wait until you have the drivetrain components installed like you said. No need to have a DS made and have to have it reworked in the end.

Once I'm to the point where the engine and trans are in I'm gonna be pissed waiting around on a driveshaft to be made. It's a factory engine/trans for the car so should be common length and no need to be reworked if I can go off of what others have done.

You're going to be even more pissed when you have a DS that should work and end up not working. Yes, I know it's a common length but things happen. There could be slight variances between body styles, transmissions and differentials.

It was just a suggestion. You may get someone to give you details on their driveshaft specs but they may forget to include differential specs; I don't know if there's a dimensional difference between all the ones Toyota offers. Then guys using a R154 with a different tailshaft option could give you specs that will not pertain to yours.

^^Seriously? I understand wanting to be safe but it's not that complicated. Trans must be the same cause mk3 supra r154 front driveshafts always work and supra tt auto diffs swap with no mods other than swapping the input flange which is the same length just different bolt pattern (I've already done this swap).

Anybody who works on cars or at least our cars have an opinion? Am I an idiot here or what?

^, guess you didn't read the description that stated it's "made to order". Still doesn't solve the OP's question, since Driftmotion also ask the customer to measure the distance from the output shaft to differential flange.

I may call and talk to Aaron at DM about it. If anyone would know I guess he would. I'm sure he has to state that in the description since he deals with all different kinds of swaps. That's the DS I was thinking about going with though. I'd still be interested to hear what anyone on here has to say if they have a one piece.
