a lot of disadvantages with little gain in handling, more weight, and cost.

i have a greddy stb from a supra, fits just fine.
greddy or cusco or carbing will fit our cars no problem.

I don't see it adding much weight. It'll help stiffen the chassis with less flex. That's all it's designed to do - Not looking to see handling up to 80 mph, just a better feel of the car. On my previous car (s14) I had front, rear, and c-pillar and I did notice a great improvement in handling through turns.

spdrcr771 made one and sold a couple. Not sure if he is still making more. If he does, it'll definitely be made to order type thing.

Awesome, thanks for the info guys! I agree cleanshots! Making it a 3 point would be more effective there.

Corrected.

Seriously.... the ONLY way that the bar is helpful is if the shock towers want to pull apart or push together... The body has a natural need to twist not compress or tense.

Seriously useless. See sig - Facts > Hype
They look cool I guess... but what about those 2 point floor bars... or even electric superchargers, magnetic fuel line crap.

If you want to do something, stitch weld the car, cage, triangle/X brace.

Any 2 point bar is almost useless, especially with a hinge, bolts, or thin material (95% of strut bars, which should be called shock bars...)

/end

They're not hard to find at all...You can get them specially made to order from Tanabe at your local tuning shop for about $250...But what like Red Phoenix says, They're USELESS unless they're a 3 point bar.

Here's another pic of a rear Strut Tower bar...

that just looks like its not gonna do jack! it looks like it would have alot of flex points and just not do anything. if it was more like this..

now its triangulated and will not flex at all. a better design would be double round tubing across for the actual bar part. then having flat pieces welded in the middle, if that was done then it wouldn't need to be triangulated as much. but the rectangular tubing with the bend is just useless if anything it would just bend more at the angle where its already bent. the easiest thing would be to mod the gas tank!!! a straight design for the strut brace; the gas tank would be emptied and the sides marked where the strut bar would meet. the gas tank is then removed from the car and the sides will get drilled maybe 2" holes one on each side or a rectangular shape. then tubing of the same dimension goes through the tank and is welded on the tank ends so it creates a passage through the tank. the strut bar is put through the hole you put the tank back and attach the ends to the struts. like so...

or get a gas tank made that is shorter..

The first edit doesn't look bad, although when I thought of triangulate. I actually meant to connect it to the top deck to make it a 3 point bar.
