New engine ?'s for sc400
Ok my sc400 has 196,000 on the odo and I always see threads on upgrading the sc300 just wondering if they have a more powerful motor for the sc400. Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

As Kira said, there's the 2UZ-FE, but I'm not sure how well that would work in our cars as it designed to rev low and have high torque.
There's the 3UZ-FE, which was used in the Lexus SC430 (bleh). I dunno how easy that would be to swap into our cars, though.
If you're really up for the challenge, you could swap in an LSX engine and Tremec T-56 transmission. There's a guy on this forum that's doing that right now, I believe.

There really isn't any swaps for the 400 that are as easy as swapping the inline 6 motors. The 1uzfe came in three power levels I believe 92-95 engines were 250 hp, 95-97 got 10 more horsepower from lighter rods, pistons and higher compression. From '98 to 2000, they added vvt-i, bumping power to 290hp. Still not many (if any) have swapped the vvt-i 1uz into an older SC, probably because of price, and all the extra wiring and obdII stuff. These are great engines, capable of making lots of power, but it has little aftermarket support.
