Maybe I am wrong and they are just reorganizing or something, but it appears that Jhot is no longer importing. Their site is pretty much empty. There is no inventory listed, and their ebay store is empty as well. It's a shame since they were always known as one of the more reliable importers.

Anyone know anything more definitive?

It all probably has something to do with all the supposed new laws and regulations about importing JDM spec engines into this country (i hear that it's very difficult to get your hands on a 1JZ these days)...and since this was more than likely their livelihood, It put them out of business?

I been trying get my 1JZ from both JHot and GSpeed Corp in the last year but they never had them in stock anymore. Jhots inventory is short and GSpeeds site is down.

Yeah there are still options on ebay it looks like, but it seems like its hit or miss with service on ebay. With jhot, the motor may or may not be perfectly clean, but they always include uncut harness, ecu, igniter, intercooler, air box, driveshaft etc. IOW, they are very complete swaps.

Buy off of ebay and they may sell you a Soarer swap and ship you a chaser set. Also, half the time, harnessses show up cut, and all the misc stuff like intercooler and driveshaft are unheard of.

At any rate, its bad for all of us when importers close shop since it will inevitably drive inventory down and prices back up.

I wouldn't say Jhot was shady. I bought a super clean 1J from them that Ive been daily driving for a year now.

I probably have 15k miles on this biotch.

The economy is very rough, people are saving more than ever right now, and engine swaps aren't high on peoples priority lists.
